Lunch chain Specialty’s permanently closing all locations

Cafe and bakery chain Specialty’s, which operated 33 stores in three states, announced that it would not reopen its shops in the wake of closings forced by the covid-19 crisis.

The chain, which opened its first store in 1987, cited “decimated company revenues” from shelter-in-place policies. It was recently seen giving away its leftover supplies from a California warehouse.
